Content Manager & Trainer

Salary Range: $18.00 – 20.00 / hour (dependent upon training & experience)

Hours: 35 Hours / Week

Location: This is a position within an established home-based business.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing some degree of clerical and administrative support in addition to their regular duties in a customer oriented environment. The clients of Simply Ducky are accustomed to a high level of customer service, personal attention, and a friendly yet professional working relationship. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain and grow these relationships, whether on the phone, via email or in person. The vast majority of client interactions are over the phone, via email, across Zoom, or at their place of business. Some drop in traffic occurs for meetings and the pickup of printed material or for payment of invoices.

The successful applicant will be expected to understand that their work place is also a home, and act accordingly. Dress is casual with an emphasis on a professional and friendly attitude.


  • Troubleshoot and address client issues from the technical to organizational – provide pro-active customer service when disputes of misunderstanding arise between the client and Simply Ducky Designs.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for the client in their dealings with Simply Ducky Designs – ensuring the client is involved, informed, and knowledgeable in the progress of their project(s)
  • Reply to inquiries from current and potential clients via phone and email
  • Work with clients to design the look for online projects such as websites and customized social media themes
  • Use Adobe Photoshop to turn the above designs into practical files ready for use online
  • Edit and update clients websites using the WordPress Content Management System with limited use of PHP, CSS, and HTML
  • Emphasis on the use of the Divi Builder software for WordPress to create highly mobile friendly sites
  • Update the Social Media platforms used by Simply Ducky Designs and its clients
  • Creation of new websites and the updating of existing websites for Simply Ducky Design’s clients

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experienced computer user (familiarity with digital filing methods, email use and etiquette, and a sound understanding of safe computer use)
  • Sound customer service background. The ability to politely and effectively interact with the public and clients
  • Access to a valid driver’s license and a vehicle
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to independently problem solve
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Solid writing skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Publisher
  • Experienced in using Adobe Photoshop CS6 or above to turn clients ideas into practical files
  • Experienced user of Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media platform for business
  • Experience with the WordPress Content Management System and the Divi Builder software
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong knowledge of CSS and HTML
  • Basic knowledge of PHP
  • Familiarity with cPanel hosting control software
  • Ability to work on cross-platform, mobile friendly websites
  • Ability to turn a customer’s request into a practical, successful website design
  • Ability to maintain multiple social media accounts and create unique content on the fly for clients

Simply Ducky Designs was founded by Crispin Cornect in the spring of 2009 to create websites and provide related services to small businesses in Eastern Nova Scotia. With attention to detail, sound communication strategies and a genuine concern for what is right for the client, business has grown.

  • Training will be extensive and thorough. The successful applicant will not be expected to do something they have not been trained for. Likewise, the successful applicant is expected to apply themselves to mastering the skills they have been trained in through regular use in the workplace.
  • There are no such things as stupid questions, just stupid people. Stupid people do not ask questions.
  • Crispin happens to like animals such as Cats, Sheep, Chickens, and Pygmy Goats. It is possible that one or more of the aforementioned critters might be about the workplace. It is important that the successful applicant be aware of this and not have any significant allergies to livestock or fowl.
  • Crispin has a sense of humor. It is not always funny. The successful applicant will not be required to laugh at his jokes, but a polite smile on occasion is strongly recommended.
